FAITH in others

Bella & I went to a Christmas party last night at Premier Athletic Club, where she still teaches a couple of classes on Monday. One of the ladies there last night, comes up to me and says "I heard you're picking up a TV, stereo and clothes from Alison & Terry". Mind you, Alison, Terry & I bowl together Friday nights. They told me Friday night that their new TV was in and they were ready to give me their older one plus some other stuff.

This is how YLIA is going to be successful. People helping their neighbors, their friends, their family...their COMMUNITY. And then passing the word on to their friends...6 degrees of separation and the world will be helping each other, one community at a time.

I'm up in Middletown today. The sales are going pretty well. Even though I doubt people are buying 'pre-owned' clothing as gifts, the increased traffic throughout the Market has definitely helped us.

Faith in others - Yorktown Town Fair

We decided to take a table at the Fair on October 9, receiving our 501c3 status from the IRS only a couple of weeks earlier. We weren't completely prepared but we did ok.

We handed out hundreds of business cards and fliers, constantly running into 7-11 to make more copies. The reception we received from the community was wonderful. Thanks to Jackie, Tamsin, Chrissy & Eileen for volunteering their time to help.

our LOVE - Middletown Store

In June 2011, we opened up a part-time store at the indoor flea market in Middletown, NY.

  The store is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-6.  It was a great way to get the ball rolling for YLIA, until we are able to open up a full-time store in Yorktown.  Proceeds from the sale of clothing goes to helping our families. Frank & Renso did all the work, getting it ready to open.
